Purple Poetry // Haikus

A series of traditional haikus (5–7–5 format) reflecting on common themes seen elsewhere in my poetry. The first two were originally published on DeviantArt, but I have added more that cannot be read anywhere but on Medium (or my actual laptop) until I release my book. Enjoy!

Darkness

Justified hatred

Secondary to the pain

Losing myself now

Heartbreak

Dying in Shadows

The Darkness is swallowing

Breaking me again

Love

Warm and radiant

Softness tempered with new strength

Redemption and peace

Grief

Stuck in this cycle

Of pain and regret and rage

Screaming silently

Healing

Mend what is broken

With tenderness and purpose

Learn and let it go

Loss

Empty hollow voids

Gaping wounds and vacant chairs

Around the table

Frustration

Never change, always

The same battle, day in

And day out and day…

Rage

Glowing embers stoke

The inferno inside as

Red clouds my vision
